Manchester United’s Eric Bailly to miss Super Cup after UEFA hands him 3-game ban

>

Manchester United’s Eric Bailly has been banned for an additional two European matches by UEFA.
Bailly was sent off for violent conduct in United’s 1-1 draw with Celta Vigo in last season’s Europa League.
The Ivorian defender has now received a three-match ban from UEFA’s disciplinary committee, which means he will miss the Super Cup clash with Real Madrid and their Champions League opener.
He has already sat out the first game of his ban – the Europa League final win over Ajax.
“The CEDB has decided to suspend the Manchester United FC player Eric Bailly for three (3) UEFA club competition matches for which he would be otherwise eligible,” a statement from UEFA confirmed.
